~ Finally! ~

It's almost June and I'm finally getting around to update. I've been quite busy.

Found a house and have been living in limbo for about 2 weeks (neither here nor there just in between). And trying to keep skating and taking my violin lesson all the while.

After many months of looking, driving and checking around, I finally found a house that is perfect for what I want. It's a small cape cod style hidden away on a dead end street. You'd never know it was there unless you're looking for it (which is nice).

I had placed 3 bids on bank-owned properties but they wouldn't even TALK to me (if you can believe that!) All this talk of "not being able to move properties" is a bunch of crap! The banks are still just as greedy as ever and won't take reasonable offers for properties. Fine. I'll take my business elsewhere. And I did.

Now the properties that I put offers in on are priced LOWER than I had offered. So fuck those banks. I offered and they were too good. Now they'll end up taking much less than I would have offered. Serves them right.

Once I found this place (a former rental property fixed up by the owners), it didn't take long for them to accept my bid - it was over and done with in like, two weeks. Except for the money hand-over. But that still happened pretty fast - about a week after the price was agreed on.

I haven't been able to sell my place yet but I'm seriously considering renting it out. As much as I would hate to be a "slumlord" I might have to. Or get someone to manage it for me (which would be nice). Charge enough to cover the costs.

I've been over at the new house putting in my herb garden and flowers and paiting. The chimney needed a new liner and the guys doing the work told me not to move in totally until the chimney was cleaned or it might get everything all sooty.

The chimney is cleaned so I'm moving on Monday. Ugh. I just dread it. Most of my stuff is out (except for the furniture and the clothes I've been wearing and food) but still - it's a pain in the butt. And I'll have to put McButt in her cage so she doesn't escape and terrorize the neighborhood.

That and I'm tired of eating junk. Until last weekend, I didn't have any pots or pans so I was eating fast food while I was staying at the new house. Ugh. My insides are VERY unhappy about this and have made their displeasure known.

So I've had this house for about 2 weeks or so and haven't moved in. What HAVE I been doing? Well, I tore out a mess of overgrown honeysuckle and put an herb garden in where it was. I also planted several bushes, painted the bedroom, planted some hollyhocks, foxgloves and wildflowers and made a fence out of the honeysuckle I pulled out.

I also cleaned up the old smoker someone left in the shed. That is going to be SWEET! It's also a grill. It will be interesting to try and smoke something later on.

Things have been sort of in limbo and now they are about to get hairy. I don't have a phone (HA!) nor internet nor TV at either place. THE HUMANITY! I'm totally off the grid. Well, until I come to work. Then The Man knows where I am.

Hopefully I'll be able to post more once I get my stuff moved and my internet access hooked up.
